Oh the wonders of social media… I came across the work of Artist Hubert Duprat quite by chance when an Aunty of mine shared a post on Facebook from 'I f*cking love science'. Instantly hooked and I'm sure you will agree. Duprat placed the common Caddis fly larvae in lab conditions surrounded by gold, beads & jewels. Knowing that they use their surroundings to build their cocoons he was interested to see if the would do so with the materials supplied should there not be the usual mud, stones or rushes etc they are used to. Sure enough they did…. and with such gorgeous results!
